Dear Sir/Madame,
The Whitefish Boy Scout Troop 1936 has been active in the valley for over 25 years. The troop is chartered under the Lion's Club. The scouts are active in the community, creating multiple book libraries, planting over 140 trees in the local campgrounds, installing a gaga ball pit at the Whitefish Middle School, and participating in highway cleanup, Clean the Fish, Skijoring, and the Whitefish Winter Stroll.
Summer camp is an opportunity for the Scouts to be exposed to new experiences. Because of the amazing place we live, the boys have a strong appreciation for camping, hiking, caving, and water sports. Many of the boys do not have experience traveling outside of the state, enjoying ocean activities, and attending a high adventure scout camp.
The Florida Sea Base camp (https://www.bsaseabase.org/) provides these new experiences that the scouts can't get anywhere else.
We are asking for financial support in sending Boy Scout Troop 1936 to Florida Seabase camp in June of 2025. The cost for each scout is $2,400 ($1,200 for camp plus travel expenses). Adults will pay their own way. We have 6 boys wanting to go. We are asking each scout to raise their own $400 (which is the price of a normal camp experience) while we try to raise $2,000 per scout. In total, we are trying to raise $12,000. Would you consider supporting “Send a Scout to Sea”?
Sincerely,
John Harvey
Scoutmaster
